The city of Oak Harbor is located on the northern part of Whidbey Island and is the largest town in the area. The city’s growth occurred simultaneously with the construction of Deception Pass Bridge in 1935 and the completion of Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in 1942.
Its economy is strongly influenced by the predominant military community which enriches the area with a vast variety of cultures.
Deception Pass State Park is one of the most visited parks in Washington offering a vast variety of hiking trails, campgrounds, beaches, tide pools and a never ending artistic inspiration.
Born and raised in Italy, food is an integral part of my culture. I truly appreciate visiting new restaurants in town and these are my top three places to enjoy a lovely dinner in Oak Harbor.
Joseph Whidbey State Park is one of Oak Harbor jewels. Hiking, canoeing, bird watching and beach-combing are just some of the lovely activities you can enjoy in this location.
